Top Tips for Starting a Biz in the Beauty Industry

Starting a business can be tough, but if you have the right attitude and the right practices in place, you can certainly make it easier for yourself. Here are 6 top tips that you can integrate into your life in order to help you along the way.

Visualise your goals:

Getting clear on your vision and setting realistic goals that you actually want to achieve is paramount to success in any industry. Repeating old goals that we didn't stick to the previous year or plucking random ones out of thin air is not the way to commit to anything.

If you want to really change your life for the better, you need to be working towards a life you actually want to have, rather than the life you think you should have. Try making a vision board. It can be a physical board, or a digital one. But, make sure you place it where you will see it every day – preferably first thing in the morning and last thing at night.

Break down your goals:

Once you have your ‘big picture’ vision, it’s time to break down your goals into smaller, manageable steps. Making 10k a month is a massive goal to achieve and if you don’t know how to get there, it will stop you in your tracks before you’ve even started.

Set yourself small, weekly and daily goals, for example bringing on two new customers per day or increasing your revenue by 10% every week is much more achievable and less scary than making 10k per month. Write your to-do list every night for the following day, and keep it manageable. I recommend having a ‘top 3’ where if you accomplish the top 3 things on your to-do list, you can consider it a productive day.

Declutter:

Decluttering doesn’t have to mean in your physical space – it could be your computer, or your friend circle. What surrounds you on a daily basis can have a massive impact on your life and success, so consider what is needed and what you can let go of for the better.


Set Up Your Morning Routine:

I completely believe that having a solid morning routine can change your life. So, what does a 'miracle morning' look like? The answer is entirely personal to you, but according to the book, you should include some meditation, exercise, journaling and learning.

• Get enough sleep! If you want to wake up at 5am, going to bed at 2am is a sure-fire way to fail. Only you know how much sleep you need to wake up refreshed - make sure you get it.

• Keep your 'miracle morning' flexible. Life happens.

• Don't jump in too quickly. Try waking up 15 minutes early for a week, then work your way to your ideal wake-up time.

• Don't give up! And don't feel bad if you miss a day or two. Just get back to it and keep moving forward.

Practice Gratitude:

Being thankful for what you have now enables you to invite in more of what you want. Try making a gratitude jar. Write down everything you are thankful for on slips of paper and add them to your jar. Every morning, try to add something new and pick out one from your jar when you need a pick-me-up.

Practice Letting Go:

If you want to manifest new things into your life, you mustmake room for them. Letting go of stagnant business practices, toxic relationships and anything that isn't serving you will make you feel lighter and more positive. Start small with clearing out your clutter from one room in your office or home and see how it makes you feel.
